All three of us come from different walks in life. Our main story was planted years ago before we even knew each other. Buddy began writing the beginning pieces of the song "Love Unselfishly". He showed it to me one day, his eyes flickering like lightening as he sang. I knew that moment was the beginning of something fun and amazing. However, life caught hold of us and we didn't end up coming back to music, and that song for four years. By that time he finished Love Unselfishly and three others along with various fragments of unfinished songs.
It was the end of August 2007 when I reached for my phone and saw that I had a voicemail. His voice was on the other end and he simply asked if I wanted to play a show out in Newport for a Battle of the Bands he was entered in. It was an ironic moment because my Djembe hadn't been played for months. Somehow over the months my musical fire had been dimming ever so slowly. I agreed to the show and we haven't stopped since. We got together every week and slowly wrote more and more by finishing verses and rearranging structures, creating new beats and polishing rhythms. We knew that there was something magical going on but it wasn't enough. Then we met Eydie.
Buddy and I began chatting about music one day and the fact that miss Eydie Aguilar played Cello came up in conversation. We of course jumped at the chance to play with her, and she so willingly and tolerantly obliged to "jam". It was then that she created a ribbon of awe and solemnity to the few songs we had. This was in October of 2007.
As a trio we have been playing together over these months and we plan on continuing to do so. We are forever grateful to those of you who support our music and who have been generous enough to forge friendships. We create. We play. And we hope to inspire you to do the same!
Much Love!
